Three.

Three brand new games that are all totally worth playing all come out on the same day.

In the middle of freaking summer no less.

Three Games - One Day

Darksiders II is something I’ve been dreaming about for a long time. I had followed the first game forever, being a huge Joe Madureira fan for ages. The first game was awesome, and to be completely honest it was one of those games that I loved but thought would never actually get a sequel.

Sleeping Dogs is the Square Enix reincarnated version of True Crime, and by all accounts looks pretty interesting. It’s lost all the baggage of the True Crime franchise and has been getting some very decent pre-release press.

And then there’s The Last Story, the Wii exclusive JRPG from Hironobu Sakaguchi, father of the Final Fantasy franchise. I’ve had that one pre-ordered for about half a year now, and Amazon assures me it’ll be here any day now. People are saying it’s even better than Xenoblade Chronicles, the first game targeted by Operation Rainfall to make its way Stateside.

I can understand this kind of stuff when it gets closer to the holidays. It happens all the time, year after year, and as gamers we’ve learned to budget accordingly. Sure, we’d love to see some more high profile summer releases. We’ve been begging for it forever.

And this is what happens.

Three brand new games that are all totally worth playing all come out on the same day.

Thanks guys!

About - The Games That Made Me: I remember as a kid my parents went over to one of their friends’ houses one evening. Their friends had a kid who was a wee bit older than I was, and he had an NES with The Legend of Zelda. I don’t remember the kid’s name or what he looked like, but I remember sitting and playing that game. From that point on it was over. Since then, Final Fantasy Tactics, Sonic 2, StarCraft, Quake 3, Counterstrike, and quite a few others made me the gamer I am today.
